We are REAL FOODIES and the Shanghai is our favourite restaurant ANYWHERE here and overseas. We have been dining there regularly for almost 40 years and still love it. The food is exquisite and not expensive. We have also celebrated several birthdays there with friends at one of their big tables. The Shanghai was recommended to us by our NZ/Chinese friend...and every time we go the majority of customers are Chinese. ( A good recommendation!)

Had a fabulous meal here including divine crayfish and steamed cod. Orange beef also excellent. Food a little slow to come out though. If you want top notch Cantonese style food this is a great restaurant. Surroundings are plain but the food is not! Went twice in one week when visiting Wellington. Ask if they have any specials on.

Great food meals came out really slowly and some of us had nearly finished before the last person was served. There was only four of us. Would definitely eat there again. Toilets were the cleanest, not only for a Chinese restaurant but for most. Wow.

This restaurant is a gem! The food is delicious, portions are very generous and price is reasonable. The waitress was very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxing.
